I don’t think I completely agree with this video. To me, overpopulation is something else. While I’m sure everyone could fit in the state of texas, one has to consider that 70% of the Earth’s surface is covered by water, and that the land is also covered in tundra and deserts and dense forests which are otherwise difficult for humans to take habitat in. With the remaining land space, we also have to consider the fact we have to share this with millions of other species. When one specie’s population begins to have a negative impact on the ecosystem, it is commonly known as overpopulation. When a basic resource is depleted. Humans are spread out all over the world, and so our influence is global. We see the effects of our population in the environment today, what with global warming having gained our attention in these past couple of years. I do believe however, that as sentient beings, we have the ability to come up with a solution for our population to maintain it’s size, maybe even expand, without destroying the way of life for the rest of nature. We do have the ability to end world hunger, it’s just that no one really takes the initiative to create lasting solutions, and sadly there are even people working against education and general welfare of the human population in underdeveloped countries, to keep the people ignorant and poor, to act as cheap labor and whatever else they deem useful.

And this is where I end my comment. Feel free to respond, let me know what you think. Thanks for reading :)
